Sun Nov 03 04:05:39 UTC 2024: ## Chennai Super Kings Eyeing Ashwin Return in IPL 2025 Mega Auction

Chennai Super Kings (CSK), the five-time IPL champions, are reportedly looking to bring back veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin in the upcoming IPL 2025 mega auction. Ashwin, who last played for Rajasthan Royals, was not retained by the Jaipur franchise.

The move comes amidst speculations regarding several changes in the CSK squad. The team, having retained five of their six allowed players, is expected to use the remaining INR 55 crore purse wisely.

Ashwin, who made his IPL debut with CSK in 2009, had previously expressed his desire to rejoin the franchise. With 180 wickets in his IPL career, he has proven to be a formidable force in the league.

Apart from Ashwin, CSK is looking to utilize their Right To Match (RTM) for New Zealand batsman Devon Conway, who has been a crucial part of their team for the past three seasons. The franchise also aims to bring back Kiwi all-rounders Rachin Ravindra and Mitchell Santner, along with Indian pacers Deepak Chahar and Shardul Thakur.

CSK has already retained five players ahead of the mega auction: Ruturaj Gaikwad and Ravindra Jadeja for INR 18 crore each, Matheesha Pathirana for INR 13 crore, Shivam Dube for INR 12 crore, and former captain MS Dhoni as an uncapped player for INR 4 crore.
