**Bengaluru, November 3, 2024:** The Annapoorneshwari Nagar police have successfully apprehended a gang of car thieves operating out of Rajasthan, ending a spree of high-end car thefts in the city.
The gang, consisting of three members, flew into Bengaluru specifically to target luxury vehicles parked in residential areas. Utilizing sophisticated techniques, they would scout for high-end cars parked on the roadside and then employ lock-picking skills to gain access. In cases where cars were equipped with advanced software-controlled security systems, the gang had tools to hack into these systems as well.
The police investigation, launched following a recent carjacking incident, involved analyzing footage from hundreds of CCTV cameras. This meticulous analysis led officers to the three suspects.
The apprehended gang is suspected to be part of a larger, inter-state vehicle theft racket. Police are currently conducting further investigations to uncover the extent of their operations and identify any other individuals involved.
The stolen cars were reportedly sold off in different parts of the country, highlighting the organized nature of the operation.
