Sun Nov 03 00:20:00 UTC 2024: ## Grizzlies’ Wells Shines in Starting Debut, Leads Team in Three-Pointers
**MEMPHIS, TN -** Jake Wells, a Memphis Grizzlies guard, made the most of his first-ever NBA start on Thursday, leading the team in three-pointers and scoring 16 points in a 122-99 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks.
Wells stepped up in the absence of injured starters Marcus Smart and Desmond Bane, showcasing his offensive prowess with 5-for-9 shooting from the field, including three successful three-pointers. He also contributed seven rebounds and one assist in 36 minutes of play.
Wells’ performance tied him with NBA legend Scotty Pippen for third-highest scorer on the Grizzlies’ roster, behind Ja Morant (26 points) and Santi Aldama (19 points).
With Smart and Bane’s statuses still uncertain, Wells could potentially retain his starting spot for Saturday’s game against the Philadelphia 76ers.
