Auburn’s men’s basketball team showcased their depth and talent in a convincing 102-70 victory over Florida Atlantic in an exhibition game on Wednesday night at Neville Arena.

The Tigers were led by a strong performance from their freshmen, Jahki Howard and Tahaad Pettiford, who both scored in double figures. Howard tallied 14 points with two dunks and four steals, while Pettiford contributed 12 points, five assists, and three rebounds.

“Both freshmen want to be coached, and they’re both pretty good,” said Auburn head coach Bruce Pearl.

Auburn’s dominance was evident throughout the game, with 12 dunks, 12 steals, and eight blocked shots. The Tigers shot 48.5 percent from the field and made 14 three-pointers.

Johni Broome led the team with 15 points, nine rebounds, and four blocks, while Miles Kelly added 15 points and five rebounds. Denver Jones and JP Pegues also contributed in the second half, scoring 13 and 11 points respectively.

Auburn built a comfortable 49-28 lead at halftime, fueled by 17 points off of 10 FAU turnovers.

The Tigers will open their regular season on Wednesday night against Vermont at Neville Arena, with tip-off scheduled for 7:00 PM CT on SECN+/ESPN+.
