**HYDERABAD, INDIA – November 3, 2024:** Cyberabad traffic police conducted a stringent 48-hour drunk driving check from 2 p.m. on November 1st to 6 a.m. on November 3rd, resulting in the booking of 513 individuals for driving under the influence of alcohol.
The majority of offenders (425) were two-wheeler riders, followed by 60 four-wheeler drivers, 24 three-wheeler drivers, and four heavy vehicle drivers. Shockingly, 64 individuals registered blood alcohol concentrations (BAC) between 200 mg/100 ml and 550 mg/100 ml, indicating extremely high levels of intoxication.
All apprehended individuals will be presented before the court. The police issued a stern warning, emphasizing that anyone caught driving under the influence of alcohol and causing an accident resulting in a fatality will be arrested and charged under Section 105 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (culpable homicide not amounting to murder), carrying a maximum sentence of 10 years in jail and a fine.
