**New Delhi:** Eminent fashion designer Rohit Bal (63) passed away on Friday due to cardiac complications. The news was confirmed by the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI), who mourned the loss of the legendary designer and recognized his significant contributions to the fashion industry.
Bal, a founding member of the FDCI, was known for his distinctive style and had won numerous accolades throughout his career. He had been admitted to a private hospital in Gurugram last November and was receiving treatment in the ICU. He gave his final runway show at the Lakmé India Fashion Week in Mumbai just two weeks ago.
Born in Srinagar in May 1961, Rohit Bal started his career in 1986 with his brother Rajiv Bal and quickly established himself as a leading fashion designer in India. His unique aesthetic and dedication to his craft have left an indelible mark on the Indian fashion scene.
