Fri Nov 01 22:26:11 UTC 2024: ## Congress Leaders Hit Back at Modi’s Criticism of Karnataka Promises

**Bengaluru, November 1, 2024** – Karnataka’s Minister G Parameshwara on Friday strongly refuted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s claims that the Congress party failed to deliver on its promises in the state. He asserted that the government has allocated Rs 56,000 crores in the budget for these guarantees, calling Modi’s criticism “jealousy factor” fueled by election politics.

Parameshwara emphasized the government’s commitment to implementing the promises, arguing that the PM should have raised concerns earlier during the implementation phase.

Congress leaders echoed this sentiment, with MP Kunwar Danish Ali viewing Modi’s criticism as an admission of his own unfulfilled promises. He pointed to Modi’s previous campaign promises of 2 crore jobs, Rs 15 lakhs in every bank account, and doubling farmer income, which remain unfulfilled.

Congress leader Udit Raj also countered Modi’s allegations, accusing him of “lying” about his own promises and failing to deliver on them.

Former Jharkhand Congress chief Rajesh Thakur called Modi’s remarks “baseless allegations” and urged him to focus on his own accomplishments instead of targeting others.

Telangana Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu declared Congress as the only party that delivers on electoral promises, highlighting Telangana’s successful initiatives like free bus rides for women and subsidized gas cylinders.

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge lashed out at Modi on social media, using five adjectives – lies, deceit, fakery, loot, and publicity – to describe the BJP government at the center. He accused Modi of making empty promises and engaging in cheap PR stunts.

This comes after Modi criticized Congress for failing to deliver on its promises in Karnataka. He cited the party’s history of making empty promises, particularly regarding loan waivers in several states.

Congress leaders from Himachal Pradesh and Karnataka also defended their party’s actions, stressing their commitment to fulfilling their promises.
