Fri Nov 01 21:40:22 UTC 2024: ## Neymar Returns to Action: Brazilian Star Set to Play for Al Hilal in AFC Champions League
**ABU DHABI, UAE** – Brazilian superstar Neymar Jr. is set to make his long-awaited return to the football pitch after a year-long injury layoff. The former Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona forward has been cleared to play for his current club, Al Hilal, in their upcoming AFC Champions League match against Al Ain in the UAE.
Neymar, who suffered a serious anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury last October, has completed his rehabilitation program and participated in team training with Al Hilal. His return was confirmed by the Saudi Pro League club on Saturday, with the club stating, “Al Hilal is happy to announce that Neymar will join the squad for the away trip to Al Ain. He’s back.”
The 32-year-old missed the 2024 Copa America campaign and was sidelined for the majority of his first season with Al Hilal, having only played five games before his injury.
Neymar’s agency highlighted his determination to return to action, emphasizing his love for football and his desire to play in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Despite the excitement surrounding his comeback, Al Hilal coach Jorge Jesus has not yet confirmed whether Neymar will actually feature in Monday’s match. However, with the AFC Champions League having no restrictions on foreign players, Neymar is eligible to play in the competition. He will not be eligible to return to the Saudi Pro League until January.
Should Neymar play well against Al Ain, it could open the door for him to rejoin the Brazilian national team in November for their next round of South American World Cup qualifying matches.
