**CHENNAI, INDIA** – Virat Kohli, the legendary Indian batsman, has been retained by the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for the next three years of the Indian Premier League (IPL), solidifying his long-standing relationship with the franchise. The news was announced on Thursday, with Kohli expressing his delight and gratitude in a social media video.

“I am excited to share that I’ve been retained by RCB once again for the three-year cycle of the IPL, beginning next year. I am as thrilled as ever,” Kohli stated.

The 35-year-old, who has played for RCB since the IPL’s inception, described his connection with the franchise as “truly special” and confirmed his commitment to RCB for the foreseeable future.

“Everyone knows what RCB means to me; it has been a very special relationship over so many years, one that continues to grow stronger,” Kohli added. “What I’ve experienced playing for RCB is truly special, and I hope the fans and everyone connected to the franchise feel the same way.”

Kohli was one of three players retained by RCB, joining Rajat Patidar (Rs. 11 crore) and Yash Dayal (Rs. 5 crore). He was retained for a hefty Rs. 21 crore.

The former Indian captain, who has been a cornerstone of RCB’s success, remains focused on winning the IPL title. “Obviously, the goal is to win the title at least once in the next cycle and we are going to give our best shot as always and try and make everyone proud of the way we play our cricket,” Kohli said.
