Fri Nov 01 08:41:29 UTC 2024: ## PM Modi Inaugurates Rs 12,850 Crore Development Projects in Chhattisgarh

**Raipur, Chhattisgarh:** Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday virtually launched development projects worth Rs 12,850 crore in Chhattisgarh, marking Dhanvantari Jayanti and the 9th Ayurveda Day. The projects include a state-of-the-art Rs 200 crore hospital in Koni, Bilaspur district, and a 100-bed Central Yoga and Naturopathy Research Institute in Raipur.

The 11-storey superspeciality hospital in Bilaspur, spread over 2.5 acres, boasts advanced facilities including CT scans, MRI, digital X-ray, and colour Doppler TMT machines. With 240 beds, 70 ICU and ICCU beds, and eight modular operation theatres, the hospital will provide improved healthcare to residents of Bilaspur and the Surguja division. It has commenced operations with four OPDs in neurology, neurosurgery, pulmonology, and general medicine.

Speaking at the event, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishu Deo Sai highlighted the collaborative efforts of the central and state governments to enhance healthcare facilities for the people.

PM Modi also lauded the government’s initiatives in empowering women, stating that over 1.25 crore women have benefited from the Lakhpati Didi scheme, which provides self-employment opportunities. He further mentioned that 10 crore women have joined Self Help Groups (SHGs) in the last decade. He also highlighted the Ayushman scheme, which now provides healthcare coverage for senior citizens aged 70 years and above.
