**Bhuj, Gujarat:** Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated Diwali with personnel of the Border Security Force (BSF), Army, Navy, and Air Force near the Indo-Pak border in Gujarat’s Kutch district on Thursday. After paying floral tributes to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel at the Statue of Unity in Ekta Nagar earlier in the day, PM Modi traveled to Sir Creek, where he distributed sweets to the jawans and reiterated India’s commitment to safeguarding its borders.
“India cannot compromise on even an inch of land on its borders,” asserted PM Modi, highlighting the country’s unwavering stance. He emphasized the strength of India’s armed forces, stating that “our enemies see the end of their sinister plans” when they encounter the Indian military. He further asserted that India’s strength lies in its armed forces and not in the words of its enemies.
PM Modi lauded the recent disengagement of Indian and Chinese troops at two friction points in eastern Ladakh, citing it as a testament to India’s commitment to resolving border disputes peacefully. He also stressed the importance of increased coordination between the different branches of the armed forces, mentioning the creation of the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) post and the ongoing work on an Integrated Theatre Command.
The Prime Minister also highlighted the government’s focus on developing infrastructure in border areas, citing the Border Roads Organisation’s (BRO) construction of over 80,000 kilometers of roads, including strategically important ones. He further stated that the government is committed to equipping the armed forces with the latest technology, making them one of the most advanced militaries in the world.
Beyond security, PM Modi emphasized the tourism potential of the Kutch region, highlighting border tourism as an important aspect of national security. He spoke of efforts to promote mangrove forests, which will attract tourists, similar to the successful Dhordo Rann Utsav.
