Fri Nov 01 13:30:00 UTC 2024: ## North Korea Vows Support for Russia, Accuses US of Nuclear Plot

**Moscow, Russia** – North Korea has pledged its unwavering support for Russia in its ongoing war in Ukraine, stating that it will stand “firmly alongside our Russian comrades until the day of victory.” This declaration came from North Korean Foreign Minister Choe Son Hui during a meeting with her Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov in Moscow on Friday.

Choe praised the “invincible military comradeship” between the two nations, highlighting the close ties forged between leaders Kim Jong Un and Vladimir Putin. She also accused the United States and South Korea of plotting a nuclear strike against North Korea, describing the situation on the Korean Peninsula as “explosive” due to perceived threats from Washington and Seoul.

The North Korean diplomat insisted that Pyongyang needs to strengthen its nuclear arsenal and maintain its readiness to deliver a retaliatory nuclear strike if necessary. This comes after North Korea launched a new intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) towards waters off its eastern coast on Thursday, the longest flight time yet for a North Korean missile.

Meanwhile, the United States has raised concerns about the deployment of thousands of North Korean troops near the Ukrainian border. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken stated that as many as 8,000 North Korean soldiers are located in the Kursk region, where Ukrainian forces crossed into Russia in August. He predicted that these troops may be deployed into combat against Ukraine in the coming days.

However, neither Choe nor Lavrov addressed these claims directly during their meeting. While Lavrov acknowledged the “very close ties” between the two countries’ militaries, both diplomats remained silent on the alleged deployment of North Korean soldiers to Ukraine.

This news comes at a time of heightened tension between North Korea and the United States, fueled by North Korea’s continued development of nuclear weapons and ballistic missiles. The recent ICBM test further highlights the growing threat posed by Pyongyang, raising concerns about the potential for regional and global instability.
