Thu Oct 31 18:41:09 UTC 2024: ## Scotland Set Sights on Nepal After Dominant USA Victory
**Dallas, USA** – Scotland’s Cricket World Cup League 2 (CWCL2) campaign continues in Dallas with a crucial clash against Nepal on Tuesday, following a resounding 10-wicket win over the USA on Friday.
The Scots, who dismissed their hosts for a paltry 144 runs, showcased impressive batting prowess as Andy Umeed (98*) and Charlie Tear (43*) effortlessly chased down the target. This resounding victory provided the perfect start to their tour, according to captain Matthew Cross.
“It was a really important start to the trip,” Cross said. “To dominate a USA team that has been very strong this year, especially in the World Cup and CWCL2, was fantastic.”
The team’s bowling attack, led by Brad Currie and Brandon McMullen, was instrumental in setting the tone for the match.
“Brad and Brando were exceptional with the new ball, generating so much movement and swing,” Cross remarked. “We put them in to bat, and from the first couple of overs, they were right on the money.”
However, the challenge ahead is no less daunting. Scotland will face a Nepal side brimming with confidence after their impressive T20 series win against the USA. Despite a narrow defeat in their CWCL2 opener on Sunday, Nepal’s performance underlined their strength.
“We have a good understanding of Nepal from our previous encounters,” Cross admitted. “They are a tough team, as we saw in their recent match against the USA.”
The two teams last met in Nepal in February 2023, where Scotland clinched the 2019-2023 CWCL2 title. While they lost both games to their hosts on that tour, Scotland remains confident they can secure victory in Dallas.
“We know we will need to be at our best to win this game,” Cross concluded.
The match between Scotland and Nepal is scheduled to begin at 15:30 GMT on Tuesday, October 29, and will be broadcast live on ICC.TV.
