Ahead of the upcoming mega auction for the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) season, all 10 franchises have released their retention lists. The auction is expected to take place in late November or early December this year.

**Notable Absentees:**

The retention list revealed some surprising omissions. Former captains Rishabh Pant, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, and Faf du Plessis were all not retained by their respective teams. Meanwhile, MS Dhoni, who will be playing in his 17th IPL season, was retained as an uncapped player.
