Thu Oct 31 18:41:18 UTC 2024: ## Oman to Host Tri-Series in ICC Cricket World Cup League Two
The eighth tri-series of the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup League Two will take place in Oman, starting on November 1st. The tournament will feature the host nation, Oman, alongside the United Arab Emirates and the Netherlands.
This multi-stop league serves as a crucial qualifier for the next One-Day International (ODI) World Cup, scheduled for October and November 2027 in South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia. The top four teams at the end of League Two will advance to the 10-team World Cup qualifier, alongside two bottom-ranked Full Members from the ODI rankings and the top four teams from the World Cup Qualifier Playoff.
The Oman tri-series will be played at the Al Amerat Cricket Stadium, with all six matches starting at 10am local time (11:30am IST). Fans can watch all the matches live and free on ICC.tv (in select regions).
The series comes after recent competitive action in the region. Oman and UAE recently competed in the Emerging Teams Asia Cup at the same venue, while the Netherlands hosted USA and Canada in an earlier tri-series. The current series in Dallas, featuring the United States, Nepal, and Scotland, will conclude just before the Oman series begins.
