**New Delhi, India -** Govardhan Puja, the fourth day of Diwali festivities, will be observed on November 2nd, 2024. This day holds special significance as it commemorates the victory of Lord Krishna over Indra, the king of the gods.

According to the Hindu calendar, Govardhan Puja falls on the first day (Pratipada) of the bright fortnight (Shukla Paksha) of the Kartik month. This year, devotees will celebrate the occasion by constructing miniature models of Mount Govardhan and worshipping Lord Krishna’s idol.

The puja is performed during the evening hours (Pradosh Kaal) with offerings made to both Mount Govardhan and Lord Krishna. Devotees also pay homage to Annapurna Devi, the goddess of food, seeking blessings for prosperity and well-being in their families.
