An own goal from Nejmeh’s Al-Rida Ismail gave them the lead in the 8th minute, doubled by Greek striker Dimitrios Diamantakos just seven minutes later. However, Nejmeh fought back with a goal from striker Collins Opare in the 18th minute. They equalized minutes before half-time through a free kick from Hussein Monzer.

The second half saw Nejmeh control possession and create numerous chances, putting East Bengal under immense pressure. Despite the intense pressure, East Bengal earned a penalty in the 74th minute, which Diamantakos converted to complete his brace and secure the win for his team.
