**New Delhi, October 31, 2024:** Diwali festivities are in full swing across India, leading to widespread bank closures on October 31 and November 1. Several states, including Tripura, Karnataka, Uttarakhand, Jammu & Kashmir, Maharashtra, Meghalaya, Sikkim, and Manipur, will see banks closed on November 1 in observance of Deepavali, Kut, and Kannada Rajyotsava.
Additional closures are scheduled for November 2 in states such as Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Uttarakhand, and Uttar Pradesh, due to Diwali, Laxmi Puja, and Govardhan Pooja celebrations. This date also coincides with the first Saturday of the month, which is typically a non-banking day.
On November 3, banks across all Indian states and union territories will be closed for Sunday.
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has released a schedule for November 2024, indicating 12 days of bank closures across the country due to various regional festivals and observances. These closures include all Sundays as well as the second and fourth Saturdays.
To avoid disruptions, individuals are advised to consult the RBI’s bank holiday schedule before visiting financial institutions.
