Thu Oct 31 07:20:29 UTC 2024: ## Telangana Bans Raw Egg Mayonnaise for One Year Over Food Poisoning Concerns

**Hyderabad, India:** The Telangana government has banned the production, storage, and sale of mayonnaise made from raw eggs for one year, effective immediately. This decision comes after a series of food poisoning incidents, which officials suspect are linked to the consumption of raw egg mayonnaise.

The state Commissioner of Food Safety issued the order following complaints from the public and observations during enforcement activities. The order states that raw egg mayonnaise has been suspected as a cause of food poisoning in multiple incidents over the past few months.

Mayonnaise, a popular condiment made by emulsifying egg yolks with oil, is commonly used in sandwiches, salads, appetizers, and various other dishes. While commercially available mayonnaise is typically pasteurized to kill harmful bacteria, mayonnaise made with raw eggs can pose a food safety risk.

The Telangana government’s ban aims to prevent further food poisoning outbreaks and ensure the safety of consumers.
