Ayodhya, the birthplace of Lord Rama, is all set to break its own Guinness World Record for the largest display of diyas on Diwali eve. On Wednesday, the city was illuminated with over 28 lakh earthen lamps, creating a breathtaking spectacle along the banks of the Saryu River. This year’s “Deepotsav” celebration, marking the eve of Diwali, aims to surpass the previous record of 25 lakh diyas set in 2023.

Local artisans have been commissioned to create the diyas, ensuring a large-scale production to meet the ambitious target. The government has factored in potential losses based on past experience, guaranteeing a stunning visual display.

The celebration, led by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, featured a dazzling laser show on the ghat of the Saryu River, alongside cultural performances. The Ram temple, a focal point of the celebration, was also decorated with thousands of diyas, drawing crowds from across the country. The presence of prominent figures like Union Minister of Culture and Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra General Secretary Champat Rai underscored the importance of this historic event.

The spectacular event showcased the spirit of Diwali, the festival of lights, and served as a testament to the vibrant cultural heritage of Ayodhya.
