**Kevadia, Gujarat:** Prime Minister Narendra Modi commemorated Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) in Ekta Nagar, Gujarat, on Thursday, marking the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

Modi paid tribute to Patel, highlighting his pivotal role in unifying India after independence. He emphasized the significance of Sardar Patel’s 150th birth anniversary year, which will be celebrated over the next two years. “This period will be filled with honouring his remarkable achievements, and national unity will be reflected in every initiative and mission of the government,” Modi stated.

The celebrations included an Indian Air Force flypast, a floral tribute at the Statue of Unity, and a parade with marching contingents from various states and armed forces.

Modi also inaugurated several development projects in Kevadia, worth over ₹284 crore, aimed at enhancing the tourist experience and promoting sustainability. These projects include new tourism and attraction centers, a solar project, and a walkway connecting the Bus Bay to Viewpoint-1.

Modi emphasized the importance of ‘Jan Bhagidari’ (people’s participation) in governance while addressing young civil servants. He encouraged them to work towards improving citizens’ ‘Ease of Living’.

The program also saw the participation of 653 Officer Trainees across 16 Indian civil services, with the theme being ‘Roadmap for Atma Nirbhar and Viksit Bharat’.

With the new developments, Ekta Nagar is poised to become a national model for tourism, sustainable development, and civic facilities. The town aims to offer world-class amenities while embodying eco-friendly policies, making it an attractive destination for visitors.
