Thu Oct 31 01:00:54 UTC 2024: ## New TTD Board Appointed Amidst Laddu Controversy

**Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh:** BR Naidu, founder of Telugu TV channel TV5, has been appointed as the chairman of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) board, which oversees the affairs of the renowned Tirumala temple. The announcement, made by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, also includes 23 other members, forming a diverse board with representation from various sectors.

This appointment comes amidst a heated controversy regarding the alleged use of animal fat in the preparation of the famous Tirupati laddus. Chief Minister Naidu had previously alleged that ghee adulterated with animal fat was used during the previous YSR Congress regime, leading to a public outcry and a subsequent investigation by the Supreme Court.

The new board, seen as a strategic move, is expected to bring fresh leadership and administrative acumen to the TTD. The diverse membership includes several MLAs, former Union Ministers, and prominent figures like former Chief Justice of India Justice HL Dattu and Bharat Biotech Managing Director Suchitra Ella.

BR Naidu, expressing gratitude for his appointment, thanked Chief Minister Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, and State Education Minister Nara Lokesh.

The appointment of the new board is expected to bring stability to the TTD and address the concerns raised by the laddu controversy. The CBI-monitored investigation, ordered by the Supreme Court, is ongoing.
