Thu Oct 31 07:19:34 UTC 2024: ## Rajasthan CM Claims BJP Government Started ‘Ayushman Bharat Yojana’ in the State
**Jaipur, October 24, 2023** – Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on Tuesday claimed that the BJP government initiated the ‘Ayushman Bharat Yojana’ scheme in the state. Addressing the foundation laying ceremony of a Critical Care Unit in Bharatpur, Sharma highlighted the scheme’s impact on providing healthcare access to the poor.
He asserted that the scheme, launched by the BJP government, has been instrumental in providing healthcare access to the poor, eliminating worries about treatment expenses and initiating a health revolution.
“The scheme has ensured that even the elderly can access healthcare with dignity,” Sharma said, emphasizing the government’s efforts to expand the program’s reach. He also highlighted the state’s commitment to strengthening health infrastructure, evidenced by the establishment of 49 district hospitals dedicated to providing comfortable treatment for the elderly.
The Chief Minister further informed that the state’s ‘Ayushman Arogya Yojana’ is an integration of the central government’s ‘Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana’ and existing state-run health insurance schemes. This integrated scheme, launched in February, aims to provide comprehensive health security to all Rajasthan residents, offering treatment up to Rs 25 lakhs.
Sharma also underscored the government’s initiatives in combating adulteration, including the “Shudh Aahar Adulteration Par Vaar” campaign, which has resulted in Rajasthan securing the top position nationally in terms of sample collection.
The Chief Minister concluded by emphasizing the government’s commitment to ensuring accessible and affordable healthcare for all citizens, citing the establishment of Jan Aushadhi Kendras to provide affordable medicines and the introduction of helpline numbers on hospital OPD slips.
The PM is scheduled to lay the foundation stone of eight critical care blocks in Rajasthan under the ‘Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission’ (PM-ABHIM) on Tuesday.
