**Bengaluru, March 5, 2024:** Kannada actor Darshan, currently serving a jail term for the murder of his fan, Renukamma, has been granted interim bail by the Karnataka High Court on Wednesday. The court granted bail for medical reasons, allowing Darshan to undergo surgery at a Mysore hospital.

Darshan’s lawyer, CV Nagesh, had filed a petition citing the actor’s medical issues, including back pain, kidney problems, and foot pain, which require surgery. The petition included medical reports from the Ballari Central Jail doctors and the neurology department of Ballari Government Hospital, submitted in sealed envelopes.

After hearing detailed arguments on Wednesday, Justice SV Vishwajit Shetty, a single judge of the Karnataka High Court, granted bail to Darshan.
