Hotels and restaurants have traditionally been popular for such gift packages, and now online marketplaces are joining the trend. “Berita” spoke to several retailers to understand the growing popularity of these gift boxes.
Shreya Joshi, owner of Curatemygiftbox, explains her motivation: “I wanted to offer my friends unique gifts that they could use beyond Diwali. Instead of just giving sweets, I thought gift boxes would be a perfect way to present them.”
Chee, a local gift box retailer, believes that gift boxes offer more personalization than traditional sweet packaging. “Traditional sweet packaging usually contains a single type of treat. But gift boxes provide diverse options, allowing individuals to curate a personalized selection for their loved ones.”
Mischani, another retailer, highlights the affordability of these gift boxes. “Customers can tailor the boxes according to their budget,” Joshi adds.
Online retailers are offering gift boxes at prices starting from approximately $20. While luxury hotels like Shangri-La, Shahi Maharani, and Raffles offer gift boxes ranging from $74 to $241.20, online retailers provide budget-friendly alternatives.
Gift box sales are reportedly flourishing, with retailers observing an increasing demand as Diwali approaches. The combination of convenience, affordability, and personalization seems to be attracting a growing number of shoppers this Diwali season.
