**New Delhi:** Delhi Police has released its 2023 Road Accident Report, analyzing the alarming trends of traffic accidents in the city. The report highlights key causes, patterns, and suggests improvements in road design, regulations, and enforcement to reduce fatalities.

Despite a 20% decline in road accident deaths over the past decade, thanks to efforts by Delhi Traffic Police, the report reveals a concerning vulnerability for pedestrians and two-wheeler riders. They accounted for 43% and 38% of road accident deaths respectively, highlighting the need for a pedestrian-centric traffic management approach.

The report identifies 10 “black spots” where accidents occur most frequently, including ISBT Kashmiri Gate, Mukarba Chowk, Libaspur Bus Stand, and Kashmiri Gate Chowk. Additionally, 10 other roads witnessed more than 10 fatalities in 2023.

Addressing these concerns, Delhi Traffic Police has implemented various safety measures, including technological advancements, improved road design, and public awareness campaigns. Special focus is being placed on protecting pedestrians, cyclists, and motorcyclists.
