**Tirumala:** Bollineni Rajagopal Naidu, widely known as BR Naidu, a veteran media baron and philanthropist, has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) Board. The decision was announced by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, recognizing BR Naidu’s successful career and unwavering commitment to Hindu culture and social welfare.

BR Naidu, the founder of several successful ventures in travel, media, and FMCG, will lead the TTD Trust alongside 24 members. The board also includes notable figures such as Sucharitha Ella, Founder and MD of Bharat Biotech, and three MLAs – Jyothula Nehru, Prashanthi Reddy, and MS Raju.

Sucharitha Ella, a prominent figure in the pharmaceutical industry, brings a wealth of experience in customer operations, finance, marketing, and business development to the board. She is also the Chairperson of CII – Southern Region and Indian Women Network, and serves on the boards of several charitable organizations.

The appointment of the new board comes after a lengthy period of administrative uncertainty at the TTD. The temple’s governing body had been absent for nearly four months, exceeding the stipulated three-month recess period as outlined in the TTD Act. The new government has finally taken action to address this administrative gap, appointing BR Naidu to lead the TTD and ensure the smooth functioning of the temple.

BR Naidu’s appointment is expected to bring a fresh perspective and strong leadership to the TTD, as he brings a wealth of experience in both the business world and the service of Hindu culture. The board’s composition also reflects a commitment to diverse representation and expertise, with individuals from various sectors and backgrounds joining forces to manage the affairs of the revered Tirumala Venkateswara temple.
