**New Delhi, October 28, 2024:** In a bid to capitalize on the festive season, Reliance Jio has announced a significant price cut on its Jio Bharat 4G phones. The Jio Bharat K1 Karbonn and Jio Bharat V2 models are now available for just ₹699, a 30% discount from their original price of ₹999.
The company is promoting this as a Diwali offer, available for a limited time. Along with the discounted price, Jio has also launched a special monthly recharge plan for the Jio Bharat 4G phones. For a mere ₹123, users can enjoy unlimited voice calls and 14GB of data for the entire month. This plan is claimed to be 40% cheaper than similar offerings in the market.
The move is attributed to the rising popularity of BSNL, the state-owned telecom provider. Recent price increases by private telecom companies like Jio, Vi, and Airtel have driven customers towards BSNL’s services. To counter this trend, private players are being forced to adjust their tariffs to attract customers back.
The competition has intensified with BSNL’s growing customer base, putting pressure on private companies to adapt to the new market landscape. This price reduction by Jio is likely the first of many changes in the coming months as private players strive to regain market share.
