Tue Oct 29 23:30:00 UTC 2024: ## Oakland Coliseum Hosts Farewell Game with Baseball Legends
**OAKLAND, Calif.** – Baseball legend Reggie Jackson brought together a star-studded lineup of former players for a final game at the Oakland Coliseum on Sunday, marking the end of an era for the iconic stadium.
The “Reggie Jackson Classic” featured a who’s who of baseball greats, including Ricky Henderson, Barry Bonds, Jose Canseco, and Coco Crisp. The event served as a nostalgic farewell to the Coliseum, which will soon be replaced by a new stadium.
“My first year as a rookie here was really my most special time,” said Jackson, who played ten seasons with the Athletics. “The stadium would have 49 or 50 thousand people in it. Catfish Hunter pitched a perfect game here.”
The players, many of whom reminisced about their time at the Coliseum, expressed their fondness for the venue. “I’m 60 years old. I feel like I’m 30 again,” said Canseco. “It’s our last chance to play at the Oakland Coliseum and feel young.”
Organizers announced that items used by the players during the game will be auctioned off next week. Fans and collectors alike will have the opportunity to own a piece of history from this emotional farewell.
