Wed Oct 30 08:18:41 UTC 2024: ## Renowned Film Editor Nishad Yusuf Found Dead in Kochi
Kochi: Renowned film editor Nishad Yusuf (43) was found dead at his flat in Panampally Nagar, Kochi, on Wednesday morning. He was a native of Haripad, Alappuzha.
Yusuf was a recipient of the Kerala State Film Award for Best Editing for his work on the film “Thallumaala” in 2022. He has edited several acclaimed films including “Unda,” “Saudi Vellakka,” “Thallumaala,” “Wolf,” “Operation Java,” “One,” “Chaaver,” “Ramachandra Boss & Co,” “Udal,” “Alankam,” “Ayirathonnam Nunakkal,” “Adigaos Amigo,” and “Exit.”
He was also editing “Basooka” starring Mammootty, “Kanguva” starring Surya, and “Alappuzha Gymkhana” directed by Naslen Gafoor, which are yet to be released.
Preliminary investigations suggest that Yusuf’s death was by suicide. Police have reached the scene and are investigating the matter. The body has been shifted to the General Hospital.
