* **The auspicious time for lighting the diya:** The muhurat for lighting the diya is from 5:30 PM to 7:02 PM on October 29th.

**The significance of the day:**

* **Worship of Lord Krishna:** It is believed that Lord Krishna vanquished the demon Narakasura on this day, hence the name Narak Chaturdashi.
* **Seeking freedom from hell:** The festival is also associated with seeking freedom from hell, which is why it is also called Narak Nivaran Chaturdashi.
