**TIRUPATI, ANDHRA PRADESH** – In a move that has sparked controversy, the TDP coalition government has appointed BR Naidu, owner of TV5 Media, as the new chairman of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) board. The appointment comes after a previous allegation of drug trade links during the YSRC rule, which ultimately failed to gain traction due to lack of evidence.
The TTD, a governing body responsible for managing the sacred Tirupati Balaji temple, one of the most revered Hindu pilgrimage sites in India, has been under the control of the TDP since their recent electoral victory.
