Augsburg booked their place in the DfB Pokal last 16 with a hard-fought 3-1 victory over a determined Schalke side on Tuesday. The match was a thrilling affair, with both sides giving it their all.

The decisive moment came in the 26th minute when Alexis Claude-Maurice put Augsburg ahead. The Frenchman received a well-timed pass from Onyeka and fired a shot that took a lucky bounce over the outstretched hands of Schalke goalkeeper Heekeren.
