**WASHINGTON, D.C. -** Veteran journalist Andrea Mitchell announced today that she will be shifting from her daily anchoring role on MSNBC’s “Andrea Mitchell Reports” to a broader role with NBCU News Group.

Mitchell, who joined MSNBC in 1997, will remain NBC News’ Chief Foreign Affairs Correspondent and Chief Washington Correspondent, contributing to a range of news programs and platforms.

She will continue to provide her expertise on breaking news events and major political moments, appearing across NBC News broadcasts including TODAY, NBC Nightly News, and Meet the Press. Her reporting will also be featured on NBC News NOW, NBCNews.com, and MSNBC.

“Andrea Mitchell Reports,” which launched in 2008, was the longest-running dayside program on MSNBC and established the blueprint for the network’s future programming.

Mitchell’s transition marks a new chapter for the veteran journalist, allowing her to focus on broader news coverage across the NBC News Group.
