**Purnia, Bihar:** Independent MP Pappu Yadav has accused Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar of ignoring his pleas for security after receiving death threats from gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. Yadav, who has been granted Y-category security, has requested the central government to upgrade his security to Z-category.
Yadav, who recently made public statements against the Lawrence Bishnoi gang in connection with the murder of singer Baba Siddique, alleges he received a phone call threatening his life. An audio clip of the threat has also surfaced. He has written to Union Home Minister Amit Shah demanding increased security.
Yadav further alleges that he has been repeatedly trying to meet with CM Nitish Kumar but has been denied access. He claims he has reached out to the Chief Minister’s personal secretary and even the state’s Chief Secretary, but to no avail.
“I have no personal rivalry with anyone. I only engage in ideological discussions. I deserve the protection that is provided by the government,” Yadav stated.
He also claimed that while the Chief Minister provides security to those who don’t need it, those who aren’t part of the government are ignored. Yadav emphasized that he has approached the DGP, IG, and SP of Purnia regarding the threats.
Following the threats, Yadav travelled to Mumbai and met with actor Salman Khan and the family of Baba Siddique. He claims to have faced many challenges in his fight for social justice, but he remains undeterred.
The incident has sparked political tension in Bihar, with Yadav’s accusations raising concerns about the security of public figures and the political climate in the state.
