**New Delhi:** Chief Justice of India (CJI) D.Y. Chandrachud has addressed the controversy surrounding Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to his residence, calling it unnecessary and inappropriate.

In a statement, CJI Chandrachud clarified that while individuals holding high political positions do visit judges’ homes for social events, the independence of the judiciary is paramount. He emphasized that judicial matters are never discussed during such occasions.
