**Ahmedabad:** India’s women’s cricket team suffered a crushing 76-run defeat against New Zealand in the second ODI on Sunday, highlighting their ongoing struggles with batting consistency. Captain Sophie Devine’s exceptional all-round performance was instrumental in the Kiwi’s victory.

Winning the toss and electing to bat, New Zealand posted a formidable 259/9, with openers Suzie Bates (58) and Amelia Kerr (41) providing a solid start. Devine (79) then anchored the innings, sharing an 82-run partnership with Maddy Green (42) for the fifth wicket. Despite Radha Yadav’s four wickets, India conceded too many runs. Deepti Sharma bowled economically, taking two wickets for 30 runs.

In reply, India’s batting crumbled under pressure, losing wickets at regular intervals and eventually getting bowled out for 183 in 47.1 overs.
