Tue Oct 29 08:18:26 UTC 2024: ## India Women Fall Short in Thrilling Second ODI Against New Zealand

**Wellington, New Zealand -** India’s Women’s Cricket team suffered a disappointing loss in the second ODI against New Zealand, going down by 76 runs on Sunday. The Kiwis, who won the toss and elected to bat first, set a challenging target of 260 runs, a score they achieved thanks to strong performances from captain Sophie Devine (79 runs) and Suzie Bates (58 runs).

India’s chase was derailed early on. Star opener Smriti Mandhana was dismissed for a duck, and the team continued to lose wickets at regular intervals. Only Radha Yadav (48 runs) managed to put up any resistance, combining with S. Thakor (29 runs) for a 70-run partnership, the highest of the innings. However, it was not enough to salvage the match, and India were all out for 183 runs.

The win puts New Zealand back in the series after India’s impressive victory in the first ODI. The three-match series is now tied 1-1, with the deciding match scheduled for October 29th.
