Mon Oct 28 10:50:00 UTC 2024: ## Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam Declares War on ‘Sectarian’ and ‘Corrupt’ Forces in Tamil Nadu

**Vikravandi, Tamil Nadu:** Actor and Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) president Vijay has formally declared his party’s political agenda, promising to combat “sectarian” forces through ideological means and “corrupt” forces, whom he claims invoke the “Dravidian model” for personal gain, through political action.

Addressing a large gathering of party workers at TVK’s first State-level conference in Vikravandi, Vijay positioned his party against unnamed “sectarian” and “corrupt” forces. He asserted that TVK’s core principle of “all beings are equal by birth” unequivocally opposes sectarian politics and exposes its ideological adversaries.

Vijay further criticized political parties who he believes promote anti-fascism rhetoric while simultaneously engaging in “underground dealings” with the same forces they claim to oppose. He accused them of stoking fear of a majority-minority divide amongst a united population.

Looking ahead to the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Vijay declared that TVK will challenge “corrupt” forces and called upon voters to support the party. He also stated that his party is open to alliances and power-sharing arrangements with parties that approach them.

Vijay’s speech highlighted several key policy positions including the need for a caste census and proportional representation in education and jobs. He expressed strong confidence in TVK’s ability to secure a clear majority in the upcoming elections.

This announcement marks a significant step in Vijay’s political journey, as his party prepares to challenge established forces in the upcoming elections.
