Mon Oct 28 06:20:00 UTC 2024: ## Cowboys Kicker Aubrey Misses Practice for Jury Duty in Felony Assault Case

Dallas Cowboys kicker Brandon Aubrey missed practice on Wednesday due to a unique reason: jury duty. Aubrey is serving on a felony assault case involving second-degree strangulation in Tarrant County, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

While the Cowboys reportedly attempted to help Aubrey get out of his civic responsibility, he insisted on fulfilling his jury duty. It’s anticipated that he will also miss practice on Thursday and Friday to continue attending court proceedings.

Aubrey’s commitment to jury duty is even more impressive considering the case involves a felony assault charge. ESPN reports that both sides and the judge would have had to agree to replace Aubrey with an alternate juror if he had attempted to get out of his responsibility.

Fortunately, the case does not require jurors to be sequestered, so Aubrey remains free to attend to his personal life outside of court hours. He is also expected to be available for Sunday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers.

NBC Sports writer Mike Florio praised Aubrey for his commitment to civic duty, stating that jury duty is crucial to a functioning society.
