Mon Oct 28 14:42:14 UTC 2024: ## NTA Releases Guidelines for PwD Candidates in JEE Mains 2025

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released guidelines for PwD (people with disabilities) candidates appearing in the JEE Mains 2025 exam. The guidelines address inquiries received by the NTA regarding scribe facilities and compensatory time for PwD candidates.

The NTA defines a person with benchmark disability as an individual with at least 40% disability, certified by a government healthcare institution. A person with disability is defined as someone with long-term physical, mental, intellectual, or sensory impairments hindering their participation in society.

**Scribe and Compensatory Time:**

PwD candidates requiring a scribe to write the exam must provide a certificate from a competent medical authority at a government healthcare institution confirming their inability to write.

**Additional Time:**

All PwD candidates, regardless of whether they use a scribe, will be granted an additional hour for the three-hour exam. For exams shorter than an hour, the additional time will be pro-rated, with a minimum of 5 minutes added in multiples of 5.

The NTA’s guidelines aim to ensure equal opportunities for PwD candidates in the JEE Mains 2025 exam. The agency encourages candidates to review the official notice and guidelines for further details.
