**TEL AVIV/TEHRAN** – Israel has launched airstrikes on multiple military sites in Iran, claiming to have crippled Iranian air defense and missile production systems. Amidst the escalating violence, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi proposed a two-day ceasefire in Gaza, involving an exchange of hostages and prisoners. However, Hamas has so far rejected this proposal, maintaining its demands for a complete ceasefire, Israeli withdrawal from Gaza, and a prisoner swap.
International concern is rising about the potential for a wider regional conflict. Western countries have urged Iran to refrain from responding to the Israeli strikes, hoping to prevent further escalation.
