Mon Oct 28 07:32:03 UTC 2024: ## Iran’s Supreme Leader Suspended from X, Following Israeli Airstrikes
Elon Musk’s social media platform X has suspended the account of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, just two posts after it was created. The suspension comes amid heightened tensions between Iran and Israel, following a series of Israeli airstrikes on Iranian facilities on Saturday.
Khamenei’s initial post on X was written in Hebrew, a move seen as provocative by some. He subsequently reposted the message on his official English account, which has over one million followers.
The suspension of Khamenei’s account follows a series of escalating events, including the Israeli airstrikes that killed four Iranian soldiers and a civilian.
In response to the attacks, Khamenei urged Iranian authorities to demonstrate their power to Israel and called for the formation of a global coalition against what he labeled as “the malicious Zionist regime” committing “brutal war crimes.”
Khamenei’s criticism extends to influential governments and the United Nations for failing to address the situation in Gaza and Lebanon.
The suspension of Khamenei’s X account further fuels the tensions between Iran and Israel, adding another layer to the complex political and military situation in the region.
