Mon Oct 28 09:19:05 UTC 2024: ## Chhattisgarh Sub-Inspector Results Announced After Six-Year Wait, Bringing Relief to Aspirants

**Raipur:** Aspirants vying for the Sub-Inspector position in Chhattisgarh Police finally received their results after a grueling six-year wait, just in time for Diwali. The announcement comes after a prolonged period of protests and a hunger strike by the candidates, culminating in the intervention of the High Court.

The examination was held in 2018 with initially 650 vacancies, later increased to 975 in 2021. The lengthy delay, marked by numerous agitations, led the candidates to set up a protest camp outside the office of Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Vijay Sharma, who assured them of expediting the process.

The final merit list, containing the names of 959 successful candidates, is available on the Chhattisgarh Police website (www.cgpolice.gov.in). The selection process included written examinations, physical efficiency tests, and interviews. A High Court order resulted in an additional 370 candidates being called for a physical efficiency test in July 2024.

The prolonged wait and lack of updates on the result announcement pushed the candidates to undertake a hunger strike, ultimately leading to the High Court’s intervention and the final declaration of the results. The much-awaited news has brought a sense of relief and joy to the aspirants, just in time for the festival of lights.
