Other Premier League contenders include Chelsea’s Cole Palmer and Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martinez, who is also nominated for the Yashin Trophy for best goalkeeper.
The Ballon d’Or will also recognize excellence in other categories, including the coveted “Club of the Year,” where Manchester City are in the running alongside Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund, Girona, and Bayer Leverkusen. Pep Guardiola, City’s manager, is nominated for the “Men’s Coach of the Year” award, while young stars Alejandro Garnacho, Kobbie Mainoo, and Savinho from Manchester United and City respectively, are vying for the Kopa Trophy for the best player under 21.
