**Hyderabad:** Megastar Chiranjeevi was awarded the prestigious ANR National Award for 2024 on Monday at Annapurna Studios. The award was presented by Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan.
During the ceremony, Tollywood actor Nagarjuna shared a hilarious story about his dance inspiration, which involved none other than Chiranjeevi.
Recalling his early days in cinema, Nagarjuna mentioned that he was captivated by Chiranjeevi’s dance moves while filming a song at Annapurna Studios.
“My father, seeing my interest in cinema, told me to watch Chiranjeevi dance. I saw him perform a rain song with Radha, and his graceful moves left me quite intimidated,” Nagarjuna said with a chuckle. “I thought, ‘Can we even dance like him?’ and almost decided to pursue a different career path!”
Nagarjuna also praised Chiranjeevi’s humility and down-to-earth nature, highlighting his presence at the award ceremony despite being unable to be seated on the stage due to protocol.
Chiranjeevi, visibly touched by the gesture and the award, said he was speechless after hearing Amitabh Bachchan’s words.
The ANR National Award, presented annually, recognizes outstanding contributions to the Indian film industry.
