Mon Oct 28 05:39:14 UTC 2024: ## Reliance Industries to Issue Bonus Shares, Share Price to Trade Ex-Bonus on Monday

**Mumbai, India** – Reliance Industries Ltd. (RIL), India’s most valuable company, will be issuing bonus shares to its shareholders, effective Monday, October 28, 2024. This marks the company’s third bonus share issue since 2009, with the last one being in 2017.

The company announced that shareholders of record as of Monday will receive one bonus share for every one share held. The ex-bonus date for trading the shares on the stock exchange is also Monday, October 28th. This means that anyone buying the shares after this date will not be eligible for the bonus shares.

The company’s shares were trading at ₹2655.45 at the close of the market on Friday, October 25th.

Despite the bonus share issue, RIL’s net profit for the July-September quarter of the current fiscal year has declined by 5% to ₹16,563 crore. This dip in profit is primarily attributed to weaker performance in the oil refining and petrochemicals business.

The company’s retail and telecom businesses have performed well, but the refining and petrochemicals business has been affected by global oversupply, resulting in lower margins.

RIL’s EBITDA (Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization) has also dipped by 2% to ₹43,934 crore. This is partially due to a 5% increase in finance costs, primarily attributed to higher debt.
