**Muradabad, October 28:** This year, Dhanteras will be observed on October 29th, coinciding with the auspicious ‘Tripuskar Yoga’, according to renowned astrologer Acharya Gaurav Kaushik. He clarified that the auspicious time for shopping extends throughout the day, making it an ideal opportunity for purchasing new items.
Acharya Kaushik, residing in the Linepar area of the city, stated that Dhanteras, also known as Dhan Trayodashi, marks the start of the five-day Diwali festival. The auspicious occasion, falling on a Tuesday this year, is considered a propitious day for buying new items, particularly electronics and appliances, as it is believed to bring wealth and prosperity to the household.
The Trayodashi tithi, which governs the festival, will begin on October 29th at 10:31 AM and conclude on October 30th at 1:15 PM. The auspicious ‘Pradosh Kaal’, ideal for worship, will commence at 5:38 PM on October 29th and end at 8:13 PM. The ‘Ghodhuli Kaal’, considered particularly auspicious for buying gold and silver, will take place from 6:31 PM to 8:31 PM on the same day.
The astrologer further emphasized that Diwali, despite being celebrated on a single day, is a five-day festival beginning with Dhanteras and culminating with Yama Dwitiya. This period, known as ‘Yama Panchak’, holds special significance for worshipping various deities, including Yama Raja, Dhanvantari, Lakshmi-Ganesh, Hanuman, Maa Kali, and Chitragupta. This year, the festival will be extended to six days due to the Amavasya tithi lasting for more than one day.
With Diwali celebrations just around the corner, residents are gearing up for this auspicious period, focusing on shopping, cleaning, decorating, and enjoying traditional festivities.
