Sun Oct 27 08:19:02 UTC 2024: ## Gonzaga’s Timme Returns to G League, Eyes NBA Comeback

**Stockton, CA** – Former Gonzaga star Drew Timme is set to return to the G League, aiming for another shot at an NBA roster spot. After a promising summer league performance with the Sacramento Kings, Timme signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the team, paving the way for him to join their G League affiliate, the Stockton Kings.

Timme, Gonzaga’s all-time leading scorer, showcased his versatility and scoring prowess during the summer league, earning praise from Kings’ summer league coach Doug Christie. “I thought it was great,” Timme said of the Kings’ system. “I like the system that they play in. I feel like it’s really good for a player like myself.”

Timme averaged 11.4 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 1.6 assists in five Vegas summer league games, shooting a remarkable 63.2% from the field.

However, the Exhibit 10 contract wasn’t a guarantee for a permanent spot with the Kings. Sacramento waived Timme after signing him, allowing Stockton to acquire his G League rights. If Timme remains with Stockton for 60 days, he could earn bonuses up to $77,500.

Timme’s journey back to the NBA has been punctuated by a foot injury that hampered his time with the Wisconsin Herd earlier this year. Gonzaga coach Mark Few believes Timme’s talent is undeniable, stating, “I think he was going to get called up [to the Bucks main roster] this year and then he broke his foot… So he’s just gonna have to keep fighting and scratching and doing what he can.”

With health on his side, Timme is ready to prove himself in Stockton. While his immediate focus is on the G League, a strong performance could potentially earn him another chance at the NBA, either with Sacramento or another team. The 2024-25 G League season tips off on November 10th, and Timme will be aiming to make a statement.
