Sun Oct 27 03:30:00 UTC 2024: ## Dodgers Dominate Yankees in World Series Game 2, Take 2-0 Lead
**LOS ANGELES** – The Los Angeles Dodgers dominated the New York Yankees in Game 2 of the World Series on Saturday, securing a 4-2 victory and a crucial 2-0 series lead.
Japanese right-hander Yoshinobu Yamamoto was the star of the show for the Dodgers, delivering a masterful performance. Yamamoto pitched 6.1 innings, allowing only one hit – a solo home run by Juan Soto – with two walks and four strikeouts.
The Dodgers jumped out to an early lead in the second inning thanks to a solo home run by Tommy Edman off Yankees starter Carlos Rodón. Soto tied the game in the top of the third, but the Yankees’ offense went cold after that.
Teoscar Hernández put the Dodgers back in front with a two-run home run in the bottom of the third, followed by a solo shot by Freddie Freeman, who was the hero of Game 1.
The Yankees mounted a late comeback attempt in the ninth inning, scoring two runs to cut the deficit to two. However, Dodgers reliever Blake Treinen managed to escape the jam and secure the victory.
The Dodgers will now take their 2-0 series lead to New York for Game 3 on Monday. However, the team might be without their star player, Shohei Ohtani, who left Game 2 in the seventh inning with an apparent left shoulder injury. Ohtani, who became the first player in history to record 50 home runs and 50 stolen bases in a season, was helped off the field by the Dodgers’ training staff.
The Yankees will need to find a way to turn the tide in the series in front of their home fans if they want to avoid falling into a 3-0 hole.
